Overview

The Job in a Nutshell:

 This role is a Natural Grocers culture promoter with the objective of motivating and inspiring Crew by sharing their personal leadership experiences and expressing appreciation for the company culture and mission, Crew benefits and perks, CARE-ing culture, advancement opportunities, etc.   Connecting with Crew and understanding their perspective is key to success in this role.  This position must have proven ability to quickly build rapport through their strong communication and perception skills.  Must have the ability to read an audience, invite engagement and present to an audience in a warm and welcoming manner.  Crew should walk away from a group or individual interaction with this person feeling proud to be part of the Natural Grocers family. This position requires excellent judgment, the independent exercise of discretion to promote Natural Grocers’ culture, consistent with company direction, and the ability to operate in an unsupervised capacity to facilitate effective Crew culture engagement.

Responsibilities

Main Ingredients: 

  1. Partner with Store Ops leadership to schedule and coordinate Crew culture engagement sessions at store locations.
  2. Share your personal leadership journey and success stories building strong connections to the company commitment to Crew.
  3. Communicate examples of the company’s investment in our Crew.
  4. Educate and promote company perks/benefits, advancement opportunities, company differentiators, and other NGVC programs and promotions with crew.
  5. Educate, promote and encourage participation in crew wellness programs, nutrition education, career opportunities and other company programs.
  6. Educate and inspire the crew’s understanding of the 5 Founding Principles and CARE expectations.
  7. Share personal examples of NGVC commitment to culture and crew.
  8. Inspire crew to share their positive experiences with crew and customers.
  9. Create a sense of community within stores by engaging positively with crew.
  10. Respond to labor relations questions and concerns.
  11. Prepare and communicate store engagement reports to SSC leadership and share recommendations and feedback received.
  12. Receive and review confidential company information from the company’s leadership to support crew engagement efforts and preserve the confidentiality of such information.

Qualifications

Recipe for Success:

  1. Confident communicator in both group and one-on-one settings
  2.  Must possess exceptional presentation and group engagement skills
  3.  Minimum 3 years of leadership experience
  4.  Store experience preferred
  5. Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to make genuine connections with diverse audiences
  6. Conflict Management skills - Ability to respectfully manage disruptive responses and behavior in a classroom setting
  7. Able to “read the room” - perceive how the subject matter is being received and adjust as necessary ensuring control of conversation and objective of the meeting
  8. Strong sense of urgency
  9. Effective time management skills
  10. Must be flexible and able to quickly adjust to changes in plans as well as be prepared to create solutions when faced with obstacles
  11. Able to stay calm and professional when faced with confrontation
  12. Ability to travel up to 100% - M to F – home on weekends
