    At the direction of the Recruiting Manager, the Corporate Recruiter is responsible for forecasting, sourcing, recruiting and interviewing for positions at assigned Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage stores, at the Store Support Center and at the Distribution Center. This individual will assist with the implementation of recruiting initiatives that build bench strength, reduce turnover and ensure compliance with all application and federal state laws.


    • Travel up to 50% of schedule assist with staffing needs.
    • Develop reports through multiple applications including Applicant Stack to determine trends and other information to assist with recruiting initiatives.
    • Coordinate job fairs to source potential store level candidates in high-needs markets.
    • Identify quality managers.
    • Meet regularly with the Recruiting Manager, HR Director and Regional Managers to identify staffing needs.
    • Provide quality candidates to the Regional Managers for final selection of all store manager positions.
    • Assist Store Managers throughout the hiring process including background checks and any other pre-employment testing.
    • Create and present innovative recruitment techniques and avenues.
    • Report weekly and monthly to the Recruiting Manager on staffing needs, turnover, trends, opportunities and other recruiting-related issues for his/her assigned area.
    • Coach Store Managers on quality interviewing and selection practices.
    • Adopt stores, ensuring compliance with all recruiting and employment laws and regulations.
    • Sourcing candidates using a variety of techniques including networking, advertising, job fairs, etc.
    • Touch base with Store Managers to address any store level comments or concerns they have for better retention.
    • Coordinate training needs by communicating with the Training Manager.

    • Seven to ten years of experience recruiting exempt and non-exempt level candidates.
    • Field retail experience preferred.
    • Strong recruiting skills and ability to identify quality candidates.
    • Strong knowledge of all relevant recruiting and employment laws and regulations.
    • Ability to work independently; self-motivated.
    • Excellent understanding of the retail environment.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with candidates and employees at every education level.
    • Good computer skills; ability to develop spreadsheets and reports to analyze division staffing needs.
    • Excellent collaboration and consensus building skills.
    • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
    • Knowledge and shared belief of Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage culture and values.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks for timely completion.
